Canada
Express Entry is an electronic system introduced by Citizenship &
Immigration Canada in January 2015. The initiative behind the introduction of
Express Entry was to bring about a system that eases the management of Canada
Permanent Resident Visas through various programs. This system not only helped
the Canadian government in bringing an organized selection system but also
helped candidates interested in Canada immigration with a fair selection
system. Canada Express Entry eradicated all the loopholes of the quota based
system. Applicants who were merely being selected on luck or first come first
serve basis in the quota system now enjoyed a fair selection system where their
applications were merely picked based upon core human factors and adaptability
skills. The introduction of Canada Express Entry System gave priority to highly
skilled workers & endorsed them with deserving work opportunities in
Canada.
Canada Express Entry in
2015 & now
Immigration Target: Canada Express Entry
opened in 2015 with a target of 172,100–186,700 applications in one year. The
target was successfully within the first year. A huge number of professionals
showed interest in Canada immigration through Canada Express Entry. Considering
this growing interest and on the contracting the increasing requirement of
skilled professionals in Canada, the country constantly kept increasing its
target. The current year’s target is 280,000-320,000.
Points allotment &
submission time: Canada Express Entry recently announced a change to its points
allotment system. Now Canada Express Entry allots 600 points for PNP
nomination. However, the points allotment for a valid job offer decreased from
600 points to 200 points & 50 points.
Initially, applicants
who received an ITA were given a time of 60 days to submit their applications
for PR & make the PR fee payments. This provision has now increased to 90
days.
CRS Score: When Canada
Express Entry was introduced, the first Draw of Canada Express Entry had a
cut-off score as high as 886. During this tenure, applicants though with good
skills, experience and education were unable to migrate to Canada. This is
because the job offer only was the requirement that could boost their score and
help them with the ITA. Applicants who had a valid job offer from a Canadian
employer were given highest preference for Canada Permanent residency.
By time, the tables
turned down. Canada Express Entry experienced a gradual shift in its CRS
requirements. It is stated that Canada has been focused more on inviting
skilled workers based on core human factors for this year. According to the
records of the most recent Draws of Canada Express Entry, Canada invited
candidates who even had CRS as low as 423.
Number of Invitation to
Apply: During the first draw of Express Entry, only 779 applicants were invited
for Canada Permanent Residency. This number gradually increased by time. During
the start of 2016, this number increased to 1463 applications being accepted
and issued with an ITA. In the 2017, the number of ITAs issued to candidates
had broke all the previous records and reached to a number like never before.
According to the statistics of the recent Express Entry Draw, Canada
successfully invited a total of 39,769 in 2017- in just a span of 4-5 initial
months of 2017. This total number of ITAs nearly equals to the total number of
applicants who landed in Canada during the first two years since this System
came into operation.
Canada Express Entry’s
Scope in 2017
It is believed that Canada Express Entry will
remain in favor of skilled workers for the year 2017. The CRS score may
decrease gradually and more number of ITA’s will be issued to eligible
candidates, based on core human factors. This will make it easy for applicants
to migrate to Canada without any job offer in hand. Not just this but, as
provinces of Canada are lacking skilled talent they will open the PNP programs
on a frequent level.
These improvements in
Canada Express Entry System will make it easy for applicants to apply for a PR
visa for Canada in 2017. If you haven’t prepared your file till now, don’t
