Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) are the two significant programs for attaining permanent residency visa in Canada. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) nominates the desired candidates based on their skill set so that they improve the economic needs of the respective provinces in Canada. The draws conducted in Provincial Nominee Programs are equivalent to the Express Entry draws wherein the nominated candidates after receiving ITA can apply for permanent residency visa within 60 days.
Qualifying criteria for PNP:
Suppose if a specific province needs experienced teachers, then your chances to apply for that specific province increases. In case of Express Entry Program, your qualifying criteria depends on the CRS score that you obtain for parameters such as age, education, experience, language capability and others. If your CRS score is high, then you will be placed in Express Entry pool. Also, the provinces select the candidates from Express Entry pool if their profile suits their economic needs. You can get 600 points additionally to your CRS score once granted through provincial nomination.
Applying via PNP directly:
If you are not in EE pool and do not have knowledge on particular province that would prefer to immigrate, then you need to research the existing Provincial Nominee Programs based on your skill set to be nominated. Once this is done, you should submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) online. If the province believes that you are feasible, then you will receive ITA for applying for Canada PR.
